That evidence is weakened by the survey sponsor’s alignment with Morales, the absence of independent polling, Smiley’s financial and institutional advantages, and informed assessments that turnout could decide a close race. Even with those substantial cautions, the strongest late voter measurement points to Morales, making his nomination highly likely.
